Matthew Werley
D.Phil (Oxon), MM, BSc, BMus


Matthew Werley is an American who grew up in a historically Austro-Germanic region between Philadelphia and New York City. After moving to Oxford (UK) for his doctoral studies, he later received British citizenship and has since worked in the Bavarian and Austrian Alps. He has lived in Salzburg since 2016.

Matthew began teaching at the university level in 1997 and has taught subjects ranging from musical analysis to the history of modern dance. Teaching and research appointments have included:
